The Royal Canadian Mint's colored fine silver toonie-denomination issues occupy an odd corner of the collector market — struck to a specification bearing no relation to the circulating bimetallic coin, they exist purely as numismatic products. The 2020 program year saw the RCM continuing aggressive use of selective colorization technology developed and refined through the previous decade, applied here to fine silver rather than the base-metal alloy of circulation strikes.
