Reverse description The reverse features a female polar bear accompanied by her two cubs resting at the edge of an ice floe, a design by Cosme Saffioti. The composition is set within a bimetallic format, with the central aluminium bronze core bearing the bear motif and the surrounding nickel ring carrying the bilingual commemorative legend. The inscription KNOWLEDGE 2000 LE SAVOIR arcs around the periphery of the centre, with CANADA inscribed below and the designer's initials TB appearing in the field. The scene evokes the theme of nature and learning within the Millennium series.
