| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing a tiara and draped in robes, occupies the upper right portion of the field. A radiating sunburst pattern fills the background. To the left and lower right of the effigy, large daisy blossoms in high relief add a naturalistic, decorative quality to the design. A circular recessed capsule is set into the lower left field, housing a small gold-plated ladybug insert. The legend ELIZABETH II NIUE ISLAND arcs along the upper rim, with the denomination 2 DOLLARS and date 2012 inscribed along the lower rim, and the fineness mark Ag 925 appears to the lower right. |
