附加信息

Captain Thunderbolt — Frederick Ward's alias — was Australia's longest-lasting bushranger, evading police across New South Wales and Queensland for nearly seven years before being shot dead at Uralla in 1870. Cook Islands issued a long run of silver dollar-weight pieces in the early 2000s commemorating outlaws, pirates, and historical figures with no direct connection to the islands, a frankly commercial series aimed squarely at the collector market rather than any claim to cultural relevance.

Ward was never caught through conventional police work; the pursuit ended only when a constable and a civilian cornered him near a creek crossing.
