Obverse description Two allegorical figures in high relief standing on a plinth: the figure of Industry at left holds a vase and leans toward Science, a crowned figure at right holding a torch aloft in her raised hand and a mirror in her lowered hand. The inscription LA SCIENCE GUIDANT L'INDUSTRIE appears on the plinth, with the engraver's signature A. FISCH below. The circular legend and founding date appear around the rim.
