Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Justinian I facing right, rendered in the late antique imperial tradition. The effigy displays a pearl diadem and layered military costume with visible paludamentum folds across the chest. The surrounding field carries the imperial titulature legend, partially visible around the periphery of the flan. The strike is characteristic of the Thessalonica mint, with some weakness and irregularity typical of hammered Byzantine bronze coinage of this period.
