The Hanging Gardens of Babylon have no confirmed archaeological record — Babylon has been extensively excavated, and no structure matching ancient descriptions has ever been identified. Some scholars now argue the gardens were located in Nineveh under Sennacherib, not Babylon at all, and that the attribution to Nebuchadnezzar II was a later scribal conflation. The Ivory Coast issued this piece under the authority of the BCEAO monetary union, which has licensed numerous large-format silver issues to private minting operations, primarily targeting the collector market rather than circulation.
