Reverse description The reverse bears a bold four-line inscription in the field denoting the denomination and issuing authority: XII / SKILLING / DANSKE, followed by the date in the fourth line, flanked by pellet stops. Below the date appears the mintmaster's initials HCM, identifying Hans Christopher Mule, the mintmaster at Kongsberg. Small ornamental rosette or floral stops appear at the upper corners flanking the XII denomination numeral. The plain field and straightforward typographic layout are characteristic of utilitarian Nordic silver coinage of the period.
