| Beschrijving voorzijde | A cheque-format emergency issue printed in letterpress on plain white paper stock, with the central Cyrillic text block identifying this as a bearer cheque of the Vladivostok Branch of the State Bank for one thousand roubles, payable on 1 April 1920 in state monetary signs. Numeral cartouches reading '1000' occupy each corner and the lateral margins, while a repeating '1000' typographic border runs along the top and bottom edges. The layout is strictly utilitarian, devoid of vignettes or guilloché ornament, consistent with the improvised character of Civil War-era emergency currency. |

The Vladivostok Branch of the State Bank operated in a city that, by 1920, was caught between the retreating Whites, Japanese occupation forces, and the advancing Red Army — making "state bank" a generous term for what was functionally a regional authority printing money to maintain some semblance of economic order. These high-denomination rouble issues were a direct response to the hyperinflationary collapse of purchasing power that made smaller notes nearly useless for transactions.
Printed locally under far from ideal conditions, production quality across the series is inconsistent. The Japanese withdrew from Vladivostok in October 1922, after which the Far Eastern Republic was absorbed into Soviet Russia and these notes were rendered worthless almost overnight.
