| Obverse description | Intaglio-printed note in blue-grey on white cotton paper, with an elaborate neoclassical architectural border enclosing two large allegorical female figures in relief at left and right, flanked by crouching male figures at the lower corners. A central upper vignette carries a medallion head within a wreath, while the heading BANQUE DE FRANCE and PARIS with a manuscript date appear above the large denomination legend mille francs in bold letterpress script. Printed text panels in the upper corners and along the sides carry the statutory bearer clauses; the serial number and letter-number indexes appear at upper left, upper right, and lower corners, with three signature lines for the Contrôleur, Caissier Principal, and Secrétaire Général across the lower half. |
