| Obverse description | Central device features a stylized spread eagle with outstretched wings, rendered in the Egyptian heraldic tradition, with a circular cartouche at its breast bearing the Arabic legend of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Kufic script. Above the eagle, the denomination '١٠٠' in Arabic numerals and the Hijri year '١٤١٢' appear to the left, with the Gregorian year '١٩٩٢' to the right. The face value '100 LE' and the abbreviation 'ARE' are inscribed in Latin characters at the center of the field. The legend 'THE 25TH OLYMPIC GAMES 1992' curves along the lower periphery in Latin script, while the Arabic name of the republic appears within the eagle's roundel. The entire design is framed by a decorative dashed border. |

| Additional information |
Egypt's commemorative gold program of the late 1980s and early 1990s was tied closely to the government's bid to position Cairo as a regional hub for international sports competition. Wrestling had particular institutional backing through Egypt's long Olympic history in the sport — the country produced medalists as far back as the 1928 Amsterdam Games. This 1992 issue was struck in the lead-up to the Barcelona Olympics, where Egyptian wrestlers competed under a federation that had been restructured following the 1984 boycott years.
Mintage figures for this type remain poorly documented in major references, KM included.
