Reverse description The reverse depicts the ancient Egyptian solar deity Ra-Horakhty (Ra-Horus of the Two Horizons) in his iconic form as a falcon with wings spread wide across the field. The falcon's head faces right and is surmounted by a solar disc, symbolising the union of Ra and Horus. Each talon grasps an ankh symbol and a shen ring, representing life and eternity. The finely detailed feathering of the wings and body is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The design is contained within a beaded border, with no legend on the reverse.
