Obverse description The note is printed in red on a light green and cream underprint with guilloche rosettes at centre. At left, a pastoral vignette of cattle grazing beneath a hillside; at centre bottom, an intaglio vignette of the Harland & Wolff shipyard with cranes and industrial structures; at right, a loom vignette illustrating the linen industry. The denomination "One Hundred Pounds" is rendered in large intaglio lettering at centre, flanked by oval value cartouches reading "100" at each upper corner. A manuscript signature and date appear at centre below the main text.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in red and blue on a white ground with elaborate guilloche rosette panels at left and right, each bearing the denomination "£100". At centre, a bold intaglio vignette of the bank's heraldic griffin passant, surrounded by a circular arrangement of dots forming a decorative border. The bank name is inscribed in block capitals along the lower margin.
