| 备注 |
Waterlow & Sons printed this note just two years before the firm collapsed — absorbed by De La Rue in 1961 after a protracted financial decline that had begun decades earlier. The Dominican Republic was one of Waterlow's last major sovereign clients, and the 1959 series was among the final batches to leave their London works under that name.
The timing is politically significant. Trujillo's regime was entering its final crisis period; he would be assassinated in May 1961. High-denomination notes printed in this window often saw limited release, with quantities held or redistributed following the political transition.
