Obverse description The Mexican national coat of arms occupies the silver centre field, depicting an eagle perched upon a cactus and devouring a serpent, rendered in high relief. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the curved legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS along the upper periphery. Decorative oak and laurel branches flank the base of the coat of arms within the ring, tied with a ribbon at the bottom. The overall composition follows the standard obverse design used for Mexican bimetallic commemorative issues.
