Booischot is a village in the Heist-op-den-Berg municipality of Antwerp province, and the Vereniging der Zuid-Heistse Hondenvrienden — the South Heist Dog Friends Association — issued this piece in 1982 as a token for their "100 Paardenliefhebbers" event, linking horse enthusiasts to a dog fanciers' club in a combination that reflects the overlapping rural leisure societies common to Flemish village life. These locally commissioned bronze tokens rarely survived in quantity; most were spent, lost, or discarded after the event.
