正面描述 The obverse is set against a fine guilloche underprint in pale ochre tones, with the bank title "DIE BADISCHE BANK" in a scrolled cartouche surmounted by the Baden coat of arms with a griffin crest at the centre top. Two intaglio-engraved allegorical vignettes flank the central text field: a female figure with attendant putti to the left and a second allegorical figure holding a key to the right. Blue letterpress denomination panels bearing "100" appear in each upper corner, with additional small "100" counters in the lower corners and a control strip along the bottom margin.

背面描述 The reverse is printed in a steel-blue guilloche ground with a large central ornate scalloped medallion enclosing an interlaced monogram "B" in pale blue, surrounded by a ring of smaller circular vignettes bearing the Baden arms and the word "MARK". Two prominent intaglio portrait medallions — a bearded male figure to the left and a laureate female figure to the right — are set within the horizontal axis of the medallion frame. Denomination numerals "100" and the word "MARK" appear in each corner against the fine lathe-work background.

备注

The Badische Bank was one of four private note-issuing banks in the German states permitted to continue operating after the Reichsbank's founding in 1875 — a privilege that survived, with increasing friction, until 1909 when the Reichsbank finally absorbed it. This note predates that founding by a year, placing it in the transitional moment when regional German banks were still issuing under their own authority but could already read the political direction.

Badische Bank notes of this period are scarce in any grade. The bank's relatively modest circulation area and the subsequent consolidation meant most surviving stock was redeemed and pulped.
