The "Rising Sun" series from the Perth Mint draws on the AIF's distinctive uniform badge, adopted by Australian Imperial Force troops in both World Wars and since absorbed into broader national military iconography. Perth has leaned heavily into this imagery for bullion and collector issues over the past decade, partly because the badge carries no regimental specificity — it belongs, symbolically, to all Australian soldiers — making it commercially versatile across domestic and export markets.
KM#708 is a one-troy-ounce fine gold issue at four-nines purity, a standard the Perth Mint has maintained across its premium bullion catalogue since the late 1990s.
