| Reverse description | The municipal coat of arms of Harelbeke occupies the central field, depicted as a heraldic shield featuring a large triangular charge rendered in fine line engraving. The shield is presented in a square cartouche with a decorative frame. The legend 'HARELBEKE' arcs across the upper field, while the inscription 'IN OMLOOP VANAF 20.10.82' appears along the lower periphery, separated from the central device by a dotted border circle, indicating the date of local circulation issue. |

| Additional information |
Harelbeke, a small Flemish municipality in West Flanders, issued this token in 1982 to mark the centenary of its official recognition — the "100 Arlabeca" name drawing on the town's medieval Latin designation. Belgian local commemorative tokens of this type were produced in considerable numbers during the 1970s and 1980s, often commissioned by municipal councils working with private minting houses rather than the Royal Mint in Brussels. The GMJ reference places it firmly in the documented Belgian jetons de ville series.
