Obverse description The Polish crowned eagle, the national emblem, is depicted in high relief at the upper centre of the field. Below, a horizontal scene depicts two early twentieth-century motor vehicles — a covered cargo truck and an open touring automobile — evoking Ossendowski's legendary overland expeditions across Asia. In the lower left quadrant, a stylised compass rose rendered in geometric relief alludes to exploration and navigation. To the right of the compass rose, the cursive signature 'Ossendowski' appears as an integral design element, with the denomination '10 ZŁ' inscribed below it. The circular legend 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA' arcs along the upper rim, with the date '2011' along the lower right, and the mint mark 'mw' appears in small characters beneath the eagle.
