正面描述	Portrait of King George VI in an oval vignette at lower left, rendered in intaglio against a green guilloche underprint. The denomination TEN SHILLINGS is printed in large bold letterpress at centre, with the value also rendered in Arabic and Hindi scripts beneath. Serial numbers appear at upper left and upper right, with the date 1st June 1939 and place name Nairobi at lower centre, accompanied by three facsimile signatures of the Members of the East African Currency Board.
