Obverse description Left-facing crowned bust of Queen Victoria as Empress, modelled by Joseph Edgar Boehm, wearing the Imperial State Crown and an elaborately foliate-embroidered bodice with a beaded necklace at the truncation. The hair is arranged in a braided chignon beneath the crown. The legend VICTORIA to the left and EMPRESS to the right arcs along the inner border, which is framed by a beaded outer rim.
