| 裏面の説明 | A central vignette depicts a figure seated at the helm of a large agricultural tractor viewed from the front, symbolizing mechanized farming and rural development. Behind the tractor, an electricity transmission tower with radiating power lines dominates the upper central field, flanked by stylized factory buildings on either side, representing industrial progress. Two wheat ears frame the central design on the left and right, evoking agricultural abundance. The bilingual legend 'सब के लिए अनाज और काम' arcs along the left and lower-left periphery in Devanagari script, with the English equivalent 'FOOD & WORK FOR ALL' arcing along the upper right and right periphery in Latin script. The date '1976' is inscribed in the lower field, with the mint mark appearing below it. |

India's 1976 FAO coinage was part of a coordinated international effort tied to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization's ongoing campaign to promote food security — a theme with particular urgency in India following the famines of the previous decade. The Reserve Bank issued several denominations under this program across the 1970s, each tied to a specific agricultural or nutritional theme approved in coordination with Rome.
KM#191 is among the heavier circulating commemoratives of the series, which contributed to widespread hoarding and removal from circulation almost immediately upon release.
