Opmerkingen

Sochi's municipal administration issued its own currency in 1919 during a period of almost comical governmental fragmentation across the Black Sea coast — White Army forces, Georgian troops, and various local committees were simultaneously claiming jurisdiction over the same territory. The city had no reliable access to Denikin's supply of banknotes, so local scrip became a practical necessity rather than a political statement.

The S585 series exists in several color and typographic variants, and attribution within the series can be contested — dealers occasionally conflate A, B, and C sub-types when condition obscures the distinguishing details.
