Obverse description The municipal arms of Danzig — a crowned shield bearing two crosses beneath a royal crown — displayed centrally within an ornate baroque cartouche of scrollwork and floral ornaments. A winged angel's head (cherub) surmounts the cartouche at the top. The circular legend 'STADT DANZIG' arcs across the upper field in Fraktur blackletter, flanked by decorative floral devices, while the date '1920' appears in Arabic numerals along the lower portion of the legend.
