| Obverse description | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, modelled by Glyn Davies, occupying the central field. The legend CHARLES III · BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY curves along the upper periphery, with the date 2025 placed below the bust near the lower rim, flanked by small decorative stops. The portrait is rendered in a naturalistic style with fine detail in the hair and facial features. |

| Additional information |
Guernsey has issued its own distinctive coinage since formally separating its currency administration from Jersey in 1921, and the wildlife series that has defined its decimal coinage for decades reflects the island's genuine ecological particularity. The palmate newt (*Lissotriton helveticus*) is one of only a handful of amphibian species native to the Channel Islands, where its range sits at the southwestern edge of a distribution that extends across northwestern Europe.
