In 1952, Sweden was actively reconsidering the size and composition of its small silver coinage, a process that would culminate in the eventual shift to cheaper alloys by the end of the decade. Pattern pieces from this period were struck in limited numbers for internal evaluation — KM#Pn142 almost certainly never left official channels during its working life.
