Reverse description The reverse displays a large Greek numeral X (denoting 10 nummi) prominently at the center of the field, flanked on either side by a small star or cross ornament. The entire design is enclosed within a wreath border formed by two laurel branches meeting at the top, tied at the base, a decorative convention characteristic of small Byzantine copper denominations of the Justinianic period. The field is otherwise plain, with no exergual inscription. The combination of the value mark and flanking stars gives the reverse a balanced, symmetrical composition.
