Reverse description Large Greek numeral I (denoting 10 nummi) displayed prominently at center, surmounted by a cross above and flanked by stars or pellets to either side. The regnal year inscription ANNO XIII appears divided across the field to the left and right of the central numeral. The mint mark CON, denoting Constantinople, is placed in the exergue below a horizontal line. The overall composition is typical of the reformed Justinianic bronze coinage introduced in 538 AD.
