| Obverse description | Facing bust of Emperor Justin II, diademed and cuirassed, with paludamentum draped over the shoulders, depicted in the rigid frontal style characteristic of early Byzantine coinage. The emperor's head is shown slightly stylized, with the diadem visible above the forehead. A partial Latin legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible due to the irregular strike and coin's small module. The overall rendering is typical of the Cyzicus mint's somewhat provincial die-cutting style under Justin II. |
