| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field dominated by a large numeral I (denoting 10 nummi), flanked by pellets on one or both sides, serving as the denomination mark of the decanummium. The reverse legend CONCORDIA encircles the central device, referencing imperial harmony and unity. An officina letter (A, B, Δ, or Є) appears either to the right or left of the central I, identifying the workshop within the Constantinopolitan mint responsible for striking the coin. The design is spare and functional, consistent with the small-module follis reform coinage introduced by Anastasius I circa 498 AD. The overall fabric is characteristic of hammered Byzantine copper coinage, with an irregular flan and variable strike quality. |
