The background composition includes the pyramids to the left, palm trees and traditional countryside dwellings to the right, and a rising sun at the top centre. The legend 'تقدم الفتاة الريفية' (Progress of the Rural Girl) appears in the field, accompanied by the 'FAO' logotype, referencing the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation series. 附加信息

Egypt's 1980 FAO coinage was part of a coordinated United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization campaign that ran through dozens of member nations during the 1970s and 1980s, each country issuing low-denomination pieces tied to specific agricultural development themes. Egypt's participation reflected the Sadat government's heavy investment in rural modernization following the economic liberalization policies — Infitah — introduced after 1974, which redirected foreign capital into agricultural infrastructure along the Nile Delta.

Aluminium bronze was the standard FAO-program choice for Egypt's millieme denominations throughout this period, keeping production costs low enough that the coins could genuinely circulate at face value.
