Obverse description Central device depicts the Eagle of Saladin, rendered in high relief with wings spread, facing forward, and clutching a shield bearing vertical stripes upon its breast. The eagle is flanked by olive branches forming a wreath at its base, beneath which a ribbon cartouche carries Arabic inscriptions. Two lines of Arabic legend appear in the lower field identifying the issuing authority. The design is encircled by a fine beaded border.
