| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing portrait bust of King Oscar II with full curly hair and beard, rendered in high relief in a naturalistic academic style. The engraver's initials 'L.A.' (Lea Ahlborn) appear incuse on the truncation below the bust. The circular legend around the periphery reads 'OSCAR II SVERIGES O. NORGES KONUNG', identifying the monarch as King of Sweden and Norway. Two six-pointed stars flank the date, which is placed in the lower exergue area. The entire design is framed by a continuous beaded border. |
