Reverse description The crowned quartered arms of Carinthia (Kärnten) occupy the central field, displaying the heraldic panther of Carinthia in the principal quarters. The shield is surmounted by an imperial crown. The date 1682 is divided across the top of the coin, flanking the crown. The surrounding legend, reading clockwise, carries the archducal and ducal titles of the Habsburg ruler. The overall design is characteristic of provincial Austrian coinage struck at the St. Veit mint.
