Obverse description Armored half-length bust of Archduke Charles II of Austria facing right, wearing a crown and elaborately decorated plate armor with ruff collar, holding a scepter in his right hand. The effigy is contained within a beaded inner circle. The denomination numeral 10 appears in an oval cartouche at the base of the bust. The surrounding legend reads +CAROLVS DEI GRA ARCHI DVX AVSTRIAE, broken across the field in the characteristic spacing of hammered coinage.
