The central field features a stylized ceramic vessel decorated in the traditional Kosiv painting style, set against a smooth, unadorned background. Flanking the vessel on either side are figures of a boy and a girl rendered in Ukrainian national costume, incorporating characteristic Kosiv decorative motifs. Issued as part of Ukraine's long-running folk art commemorative series, this coin honors the distinctive pottery tradition of Kosiv, a craft town in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of the Carpathians where decorated ceramics have been produced continuously since at least the 18th century. Kosiv ware — characterized by its yellow and green slip decoration on a dark ground — was inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2019, two years after this coin's release.
