Obverse description At the upper periphery, the legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) arcs along the rim, with the issue year 2017 and the Ukrainian small coat of arms (tryzub) positioned to the right of center. The central field features a stylized ceramic vessel decorated in the traditional Kosiv painting style, set against a smooth, unadorned background. Flanking the vessel on either side are figures of a boy and a girl rendered in Ukrainian national costume, incorporating characteristic Kosiv decorative motifs. The denomination ДЕСЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ (Ten Hryvnias) is inscribed in a semicircular arc along the lower periphery.

Additional information

Issued as part of Ukraine's long-running folk art commemorative series, this coin honors the distinctive pottery tradition of Kosiv, a craft town in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of the Carpathians where decorated ceramics have been produced continuously since at least the 18th century. Kosiv ware — characterized by its yellow and green slip decoration on a dark ground — was inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2019, two years after this coin's release.
