| Additional information |
Introduced in 2012 as part of Ukraine's ongoing bullion program, this coin was struck at a moment when the country was still operating under Yanukovych's government — just two years before the Euromaidan revolution and the subsequent Russian annexation of Crimea upended the country's financial institutions entirely. The National Bank continued issuing the series through 2016, remarkably maintaining the program through the transition of administrations and the onset of armed conflict in the Donbas.
The .9999 fineness places it among the purest gold bullion issues of any post-Soviet state.
