| Obverse description | Printed in purple-violet and pink on white paper, the obverse carries the heading 'WACHAUER NOTGELD' in bold uppercase lettering across the top border. A central oval vignette presents a detailed landscape view of Dürnstein on the Danube, with the town's baroque church tower, medieval structures, and the ruined hilltop castle rendered in fine line engraving against a mountainous backdrop reflected in the river below. The denomination '10 HELLER' appears in decorative cartouches at each of the four corners, with radiating guilloche patterns filling the background, and the inscription 'DÜRNSTEIN A/D. DONAU' running along the lower border; the designer and printer credits ('ENTWURF: PROF.
