备注

One of thousands of Austrian Notgeld issues from the 1920–1921 inflation period, this 10 Heller was authorized and signed by the local fire brigade of Osternach, a small village near Ort im Innkreis in Upper Austria. Municipal and civic bodies across Austria issued emergency scrip when the postwar coin shortage made small-denomination transactions nearly impossible — fire brigades, church congregations, and consumer cooperatives all became, briefly, issuers of currency.

Three signatories authenticated each note: the deputy commander, the brigade commander, and the treasurer. That triple-signature structure was common for organizations without a formal banking mandate, distributing accountability across officers.
