Auflage.' (second issue) in red at the upper left. Below the verse, the bold heading Kassenschein der Gemeinde Gneixendorf über 10 Heller introduces a block of Fraktur text setting out the legal terms of redemption, guaranteeing exchange at the municipal treasury in lawful currency between 15 and 31 December 1920, and closing with a warning that counterfeiting will be prosecuted by law. |

Gneixendorf is a small village outside Krems an der Donau in Lower Austria, notable mainly for being where Beethoven spent his final autumn in 1826. This note has nothing to do with that. It exists because the postwar collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monetary system created a coin famine so severe that hundreds of Austrian municipalities — including tiny ones with no banking infrastructure — were authorized to print their own fractional emergency currency, known as Notgeld.
The "llc" suffix in the Jaksch reference indicates a specific color or paper variant within the Gneixendorf 10 Heller series, which ran to multiple distinguishable issues despite the village's size.
