Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Baudouin I in high relief, facing left, with finely engraved hair rendered in flowing parallel lines. The truncation of the neck is broad and clearly defined, occupying the lower central field. The engraver's signature 'Elstrøm' appears in the lower field beneath the portrait. The design is austere and classical in style, with no legends or inscriptions on the obverse, allowing the royal portrait to dominate the field entirely.
