Reverse descriptionThis collector`s currency represents Midas, king of Phrygia. Honored with the gift of changing everything he touches in pure gold thanks to the god Dionysos, Midas suffered very quickly from a power which had to make it infinitely rich. Unable to eat or quench his thirst, he sought the comfort of his daughter`s arms who changed into a golden statue. He therefore implored Dionysos to remove this gift from him, and due to legend washing in the river Cork to be able to get rid of this curse. This currency presents a selective gilding with a fine gold echoing the myth.
