| 正面铭文 | ESPAÑA 2006 (Translation: SPAIN 2006) |
| 背面描述 | The reverse features a detailed depiction of the caravel La Niña under sail, one of the three vessels that accompanied Christopher Columbus on his first voyage to the Americas in 1492. The ship is rendered in high relief with visible rigging and sails. The legend CRISTOBAL COLÓN 1506 - 2006 arcs around the design, commemorating the 500th anniversary of Columbus's death. The denomination 10 EURO, the mint mark M, and the vessel's name LA NIÑA are inscribed within the field. |

Part of a multi-year Spanish series commemorating the ships of Columbus's 1492 voyage, this issue focuses on La Niña — technically the Santa Clara, a nickname applied so consistently that the original name nearly vanished from the historical record. The caravel was Columbus's personal favorite of the three ships and the only one to complete both the outward and return voyages intact. It made at least one further Atlantic crossing after 1492.
