| Obverse description | The obverse features the three towers of San Marino — the Guaita, Cesta, and Montale — rendered in a stylized, modern composition rising above diagonal ribbons suggestive of the rocky slopes of Monte Titano. To the left of the towers, an olive branch is depicted, while an oak branch with acorns appears to the right, both traditional emblems of the Republic. Decorative cloud-and-scroll motifs occupy the upper field in an East Asian artistic style, referencing the coin's Chinese zodiac theme. The legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO arcs around the upper periphery, with the engraver's signature O. ROSSI inscribed in the lower central field. At the very bottom, a key — another symbol from the Sammarinese coat of arms — is shown in relief. |
