| Popis líce | The obverse features a detailed depiction of the Brandenburg Gate, the celebrated neoclassical monument in Berlin that served as a symbol of German division during the Cold War and of national reunification thereafter. The gate is rendered in central relief, occupying the majority of the field. Encircling the design are the twelve stars of the European Union arranged in a ring, referencing Germany's membership in the Union. The mint mark letter, denoting one of the five German minting facilities, appears alongside the date in the lower portion of the field. |
