Reverse description The reverse, designed by Canadian artist Virginia Boulay, presents a naturalistic composition featuring a branch of the sugar maple (Acer saccharum) bearing five leaves in varying stages of seasonal colour, arranged in an elegant spray across the field. The maple branch motif is rendered with fine botanical detail, celebrating one of Canada's most iconic national symbols. The inscription CANADA and the date 2020 appear within the design, accompanied by the artist's initials VB.
