10 Dollars - Elizabeth II Lighthouse at Alexandria

Part of a broader series issued by several Pacific microstates around 2008–2010 featuring the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, this piece was struck by a private mint under license rather than produced domestically — the Solomon Islands have no minting infrastructure of their own. The Lighthouse at Alexandria, constructed on the island of Pharos under Ptolemy II around 280 BC, stood for roughly 1,500 years before earthquakes progressively dismantled it between the 10th and 14th centuries.

At one gram of .999 gold, these were sold almost entirely to collectors through coin dealers and teleshop channels, never entering circulation.
