| 背面描述 | A colorized depiction of deep space occupies the field, featuring a partial view of Earth with the sun visible at its limb. The Chassigny meteorite is portrayed in the foreground as a fireball in flight. A transparent inlaid capsule containing three small authenticated fragments of the Martian achondrite Chassigny meteorite is incorporated into the design. Peripheral legends identify the meteorite's name, country of fall, year of discovery, and the series title. |

The Chassigny meteorite fell on October 3, 1815, near the village of Chassigny in Haute-Marne, France — a single observed fall yielding roughly four kilograms of material. It is one of the rarest categories of Martian meteorites, a dunite composed almost entirely of olivine, and only a handful of confirmed chassignites exist in collections worldwide. Fiji's role as issuer is purely nominal, a licensing arrangement common to the commemorative bullion sector.
Coins in this series incorporate an authenticated fragment of the meteorite embedded in the flan — meaning each example contains actual Martian mantle material estimated to be approximately 1.3 billion years old.
